Forrest and Josh, you get the idea.

Josh, this is what we MPG nerds are looking for and I do agree with you in adding it to the individual fueling record. That's the cleanest and simplest way.
Now let's roll with it.

The feature request for this was put in our pipeline about a month ago. It will likely be included in the next feature release.

If you miss recording a fill up, your odometer reading doesn't really apply anymore and messes up all future submissions.

I reset the trip odometer every time I fillup so I always have the miles per fillup. This way, if my wife fills up and forgets to tell me, or doesn't get a receipt then I still have valid data for each fillup.

The most of the other iPhone MPG apps support trip and full odometer. I'll need to wait until trip is added before I can import my fillups from my old application.

I have waited and waited for a trip odometer feature. Either to be used to enter gas fillups or just for display purposes to see how far I have travelled since the last fillup. The latest 2.1 release still doesn't have it. Heck, even when you click on a gas fillup entry to view the details it doesn't even give you the trip distance from the last fillup. I am completely disappointed. I have been waiting for this feature for way too long now and now I have finally made the decision to switch to a different app to track my data. Thanks for the app, but it misses the mark.

Sorry to hear that, but I don't understand how not having a trip distance "misses the mark" for the entire app.

We had a lot of stuff to fix and change and putting a trip distance in there just couldn't make the cut for our timeline.

Sorry, misses the mark was the wrong thing to say. I am just dissappointed in not having the ability to use/view trip odometer data.

Is there any timeline as to when/if this will be added to the app? I haven't switched yet and do really like using gas cubby.

With a great deal of confidence, I can say it will be in Gas Cubby 3.0, which will likely be our next feature release. We're meeting tomorrow to really dig in on 3.0 - layout, features, timeline. The plan right now is to rebuild Gas Cubby from the ground up to provide more flexibility and stability, primarily, and to facilitate quick, easy changes that may need to be done along the way. Gas Cubby has become a much larger animal than I think we all expected.

The only time frame David can estimate right now is... summer. The actually summer, not our Central Texas summer that starts in February. That sounds like a long way off but 4 or 5 months or so isn't terrible. We'll know a great deal more once we finish off this big project we're working on now.
