I hear by vote that a trip odometer be installed to the app. It would be nice to see how many miles you got on your last fill-up.

Who's with me ?

one of the features in the new version will be a stats page which shows you lots of awesome stats, including #km per fill average over X period of time - very very useful!

one thing i don't see though is a quick "400km since last fill" type readout

And how do you want that to work?

So, you enter a trip odometer reading, but what is that gonna give you? I drive many small trips between each fill-up, so that is not gonna do much.

But I can wrap my head around:
Search all trips From date/time To date/time and then get stats on that search. Then you can get a readout on the vacation trip or drive from Texas to Canada... Is that what you where looking for?

I believe what GeneralBlackbird wants is just a simple display of how many km/miles were driven between fillups. For example for 2 fillups:
Lets say the 29-mar odometer was 100,000 and the 14-Mar was 99,500km. Once the 29-Mar fill-up was entered then the 14-Mar entry could have the trip meter automatically calculated and possible displayed like below.
I know space is at a premium, just a thought.
It could be "fill up" or "top up" based on wether the entry was a full gas tank entry or a partial fill up entry

29-Mar-09...............................$40.25
50L..................20L/100k............$0.805

14-Mar-09.......500km trip/fill up.....$19.32
24L..................21L/100K...........$0.805

How does that sound, General?

Any thoughts from appcubby staff on adding a trip meter display?

I'm sorry I didn't see this thread sooner.

The idea is appreciated, but you all can see how tight space is on the main record list. We'd have to shrink the text to fit all that data in there without looking like a single block of characters.

I think the best option would be to display the trip mileage on the screen of an individual fueling record.

I don't know how many of you use or have seen Trip Cubby, but the mileage entry works like this:

Odometer Start: 100,000
Odometer End: 100,050
Total distance: 50

Entering any two of the above three fields calculates the 3rd. Odometer Start is auto-filled, so you'd only have to enter either Odometer End or Total Distance.

How does that sound?

What about an option to display a 3rd line of stats on the main record list? I know I'd be willing to have a few less records per screen to get some more stats.
What about going a step further and allow for selections of what stats you would like to see on the main screen?

If not, then I do agree that putting the trip mileage on the individual fueling record screen is the next best spot.

Any more thoughts on adding trip odometer stats somewhere in gascubby?

Would my request in the previous post be doable?

Forrest and Josh, you get the idea.

Josh, this is what we MPG nerds are looking for and I do agree with you in adding it to the individual fueling record. That's the cleanest and simplest way.
Now let's roll with it.
